Robert Kedzlie

Since the age of 7 years old I wanted to cook, I started out at the Savoy Hotel in London in the early 80’s followed by stints at some of the UK’s leading country house hotels. Quite by accident I landed a job at R F Brookes who supplied M&S with recipe dishes, in the mid 1980’s the industry had only just started. What a place to work! We had a great time developing hundreds of new dishes during my seven years at the company. I then joined Geest (now Bakkavör). Geest were at the forefront of breaking into new culinary territories, my role was to push the boundaries as far as possible identifying opportunities from around the world…we were pretty successful!!!

In 2000 NPD Direct was born. In the early days it was all about taking the UK industry to America. Our offer since then has been fine-tuned with the addition of the UK, Europe and Australia added to our geographical reach. This web site explains what we now offer. After 15 years I really feel that we have found our niche, working with brands, retailers and food producers, creating new concepts, applying a commercial process and managing commercial relationships.
